I was born and raised in Denton, Texas. After graduating from Denton High School, I attended Texas A&M University where I was a three-year Letterman tight end for the Texas A&M Football team and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.  My top memory from my playing days was playing in the upset victory over the number-one ranked Oklahoma Sooners in 2002.  After graduating cum laude from Texas A&M in 2004 with a degree in Finance, I immediately went to law school at Baylor University.  At Baylor, I participated in mock trial competitions, volunteered for Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, studied abroad in London, England, and successfully completed the nationally renowned and grueling Practice Court Program.

I graduated from Baylor and was licensed to practice law in 2007 and have been with Lovein Ribman since 2010. I have devoted my entire time as an attorney to the fields of construction, real estate, employment, and corporate law.  My time at A&M and Baylor taught me the value of preparation, hard work, and perseverance.  I serve my clients with those same values.  I pledge to treat your matter as if it were my own, which not only means tirelessly fighting for you, but also being cost-conscious and counseling you away from making a wrong decision.  My advice to my clients is always the route I would take if I were in their position.

I am firm believer that nothing ever stays the same, you either get better or you get worse. To that end, I have taken steps to improve myself outside and above work experience since joining Lovein Ribman.  In 2016, I became Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization the first year it was available; a feat accomplished by fewer than 100 attorneys in the entire state of Texas at that time.  Becoming board certified involved both passing a very difficult exam and committing to continuing legal education hours that greatly exceed the amount required for non-board certified attorneys.

I have developed a diverse practice and experience level in my time at Lovein Ribman.  In that regard, I have served as lead counsel in multimillion-dollar litigation and arbitration cases.  I have prepared and filed hundreds of mechanic’s lien and bond claims throughout the nation, and have made numerous presentations regarding the lien laws to various contractor associations throughout Texas.  I also manage all transactional matters for the firm and bring the unique ability to draft a document with a litigator’s eye since I have often litigated the very issue contained in the agreement.  That is something that is rarely found as most transactional attorneys never handle litigation.  I have drafted construction agreements on both sides of prime, subcontract, and supplier agreements for large and small construction projects.  I have formed countless entities for our clients and guided them through corporate governance issues.  I have drafted and handled all necessary documents for small and large residential and commercial real estate transactions, including drafting the purchase agreement, due diligence documents, closing documents, financing documents for both institutional, hard money, and seller financed transactions.  I have also handled condominium projects, development agreements, and both commercial and residential lease agreements.  Last, I have drafted independent contractor, executive, and other employment and separation agreements, as well as non-compete agreements for our clients.

When I am away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends watching or playing sports or my passion of gardening.
