Overview

Zachary Thomas Nichols is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on construction law, construction defect claims, and related civil litigation. He represents owners, contractors, and other project stakeholders in disputes involving defects, contracts, and property-related issues.

Early in his career, Zachary has developed meaningful trial experience. Within his first year of practice, he served as second chair in a Collin County jury trial involving construction defect and fraud claims, helping secure a unanimous take-nothing verdict in a case where plaintiffs sought approximately $1.4 million in damages.

His experience includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, conducting depositions, and supporting all phases of litigation across construction defect, personal injury, and complex civil matters. Prior to joining his current firm, Zachary practiced at a Dallas-based litigation firm, focusing on defense-side representation in construction defect and personal injury cases. He also brings experience in bankruptcy-related litigation, complex discovery, and financial and civil legal research.

Zachary earned his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law, where he distinguished himself in trial advocacy. He was a semifinalist in the National Trial Advocacy Competition, earned Best Advocate honors in moot court, and served as Chief Counsel for the Civil/Consumer Clinic, where he supervised students, advised on litigation strategy, and led cases through mediation and deposition.

He received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University, with concentrations in English, Sociology, and Psychology, and is licensed to practice in Texas.

Originally from Waco, Texas, Zachary maintains strong ties to the local community. Outside of his practice, he enjoys playing the saxophone and following the Dallas Stars.
