Overview

Drew Katon is an experienced professional in every sense. He has nearly thirty years of litigation, business, and engineering experience. As a litigator, Mr. Katon is an experienced trial attorney, getting results for clients in the areas of construction defect, breach of contract, and premises liability. He is licensed to practice in Texas and California state and federal courts, with extensive motion and trial experience in each. Mr. Katon also litigates and advises clients on the enforcement of arbitration and non-compete agreements, along with other aspects of employment and intellectual property law.

A native Texan, Mr. Katon first worked as an engineer in the upstream oil and gas industry in Texas, California, and Alaska, in difficult offshore and urban land-based environments. He relies on his prior engineering and business experience to inform his understanding of his client’s practical problems to reach pragmatic and effective solutions to their legal challenges. He recognizes the difficult challenges clients have in maximizing goals and objectives while also complying with necessary legal standards, and overcoming an obstinate opponent’s position. In his work as an attorney and an engineer, Mr. Katon also conducted educational forums and seminars for his clients’ work force.

Mr. Katon earned his law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas in Austin. He is an active member of the Texas and California Bar, including each of the federal district courts therein, and admitted to the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.
