Jennifer Murphy is Senior Counsel at Lovein Ribman, P.C. Throughout her career, Jennifer gained substantial experience representing clients in a wide variety of complex matters at the trial and appellate levels in the areas of bankruptcy litigation, business litigation, complex commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance defense litigation, intellectual property litigation, professional liability litigation, and real estate litigation. Jennifer also served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable United States District Judge Jerry Buchmeyer, Northern District of Texas. One of the most memorable cases Jennifer worked on was preparing the successful petition and application for temporary restraining order in the Texas A&M University v. Seattle Seahawks, Inc. case involving Texas A&M’s “12th Man” trademark.
Her current practice focuses on construction law, business litigation, commercial litigation, and insurance defense matters in state and federal district courts, including related appellate work. Jennifer’s range of experience and background as a trained mediator enable her to vigorously defend and advocate for her clients during trials and appeals. Clients appreciate her candor, her responsiveness to their case and legal needs, and her proactive approach. Jennifer considers the strength of her practice to be her use of strategic motion practice throughout her cases to position her clients for early resolution and trial. This approach also helps place her clients in a favorable position in the event of an appeal.
Jennifer received her B.A. in History from SMU in 1996, where she was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. She received her law degree in 2000 from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she served as the Managing Editor of SMU Law Review and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy. While in law school, Jennifer won the National Championship and received National Best Brief honors at the Federal Bar Association Thurgood A. Marshall Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C.
Jennifer is admitted to practice in all Texas Courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas.
