About Haven

I am a Partner at Lovein Ribman and Board Certified in Construction by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization an accreditation held by less than 100 lawyers statewide.  The majority of my practice is devoted to construction contract negotiation and formation, defect and delay claims, and mechanic’s lien and bond claims. I have served as lead counsel on numerous construction litigation cases of all sizes, including some in which the damages exceeded well over $20,000,000.00.  I have prepared countless mechanic’s liens and bond claims throughout the nation and consider myself to be an expert on such claims.  I have also practiced in the transactional fields of employment, real estate, construction, corporate governance, and estate planning.  In that regard, I have drafted and negotiated construction agreements of all types and sizes, including general contractor, subcontractor, and supplier agreements, as well as employment and independent contractor agreements.  I have also drafted employee handbooks, non-compete agreements, and real estate transaction documents.  Additionally, I have formed numerous entities and drafted the governance documents for those entities.

As a three year letterman for the Texas A&M football team and graduate of one of the toughest law schools in the country, I learned the value of hard work, dedication, loyalty, teamwork, and perseverance.  I walked-on to the Texas A&M Football team in August of 2000 as a twelfth string tight end and three years later, I was playing in the upset victory over the number one ranked Oklahoma Sooners.  I serve my clients with those same values.  I pledge to treat your matter as if it were my own, which means both tirelessly fighting for you, but also being cost conscious.  My advice to my clients is always the route I would take if I were in their position. After graduating cum laude from Texas A&M in 2004 with a degree in Finance, I immediately went to law school at Baylor University.

At Baylor, I participated in mock trial competitions, volunteered for Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, studied abroad in London, England, and successfully completed the nationally renowned and grueling Practice Court Program.  Prior to joining Lovein Ribman, I started my career with one of the largest construction law firms in the Southwest, where I was a part of a litigation team that handled complex construction disputes and defect claims.
